Hister builds a private full-text index from web pages and files you choose to keep. Search with field filters, phrases, and wildcards from the browser, or connect an AI assistant through MCP when you configure it. On Zenith, sign in with the access token in your deployment credentials. Add a URL and optional text in the web UI, use the HTTP API, or connect the Firefox or Chrome extension to your instance URL. To import files, run Hister's CLI on the computer holding them: use hister import file with --server-url set to your instance URL and --token set to your access token. Automatic browser indexing requires the extension (or another client) โ€” it cannot read pages from your laptop without one. Optional semantic search sends text only to an embeddings endpoint you configure.

Yes. Zenith has a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://zenith.hosting/mcp. Add the endpoint from Claude, Cursor or another MCP client, connect your account, and ask the agent to deploy, configure, inspect or delete your Hister deployment. The agent can read and set environment variables. Write-only secrets stay hidden; generated credentials may be returned. Deployment inspection reports live status, HTTPS reachability and summarized resource usage without exposing credentials. A paid deployment requires price approval.
